The regular few bands have been incumbent at the top of the charts for years. Is it at all possible for any newly established bands to compete and vye for number one singles? I know new bands have good opportunities on the albums charts and can get within the top 20 but it doesn't seem to feel possible considering groups like funkisio's sales have been increasing for 10 years and by the time a newly established group has been selling for 10 years, funkisio would have sold for 20. it's not necessarily a complaint on the game but i am curious if it really is going to be possible. I feel like it's why there only seems to be ~20-30 active managers despite how many sign up.
I've gotten a couple top 10s and have been really happy with it but despite 3 years of growing my bands I've only achieved 4 top 10 singles and it just seems impossible to close the fame gap
not playing for months at a time won't help the fame chase and no1's, if there was a stat on the bands page showing the no1's history.. i'd find it had some importance to a management game.
yeah but what is that? 3 years and barely any progress? bearing in mind all groups are growing their fame at the same time so you could be going at it for 10 years and that gap may still remain because if the top groups are continuing to grow their fame at the same/similar rates, you're not going to make any progress. the reason this game has barely any players is because there is this mindset that a game should involve close to half a decade of grinding MINIMUM to become competitive, which is objectively poor game design if so. Maybe if the features weren't so barebones it would be an easier pill to swallow.
I somewhat agree with the the OP idea, and I think one way to mitigate the problem is to make a different chart for each genre, that way there is a more competition between similar bands and maybe, that would work as an incentive to create bands with different genres, similar on how other competitors do, like Popomundo or the old Project Rockstar.
I agree with you. It baffles me there aren't any genre-specific charts especially when the game has a genre META. A soloist can't compete with a 7 member group because of the way the game is made to function which is so weird. By creating genre-specific charts it a) doesn't punish users from choosing a certain genre and b) allows for satisfying rewards for newcomers and incumbent players alike.
